Types of wood
 Technical and aesthetic features

LEGEND:

HARDNESS: this refers to the degree of resistance to compression in kg/sq. m. It can be an important factor in choosing the type of wood for a floor subjected to heavy-duty stresses (public buildings).

SHRINKAGE: this refers to the dimensional variation in the shrinking phase of a wood caused by the environmental conditions. It is a very important factor in the selection of a wood species as a function of the environmental conditions of the installation site (e.g. when installation conditions are at the limit of admissible values).

STRENGTH: this refers to the dimensional variation in the expanding phase of a wood according to the environmental conditions. It is a very important factor in the choice of the wood species as a function of the environmental conditions at the installation site (e.g. when installation conditions are at the limit of admissible values), and depending on the purpose of the room (bathroom, kitchen).

OXIDATION: this refers to the degree of photosensitivity of a wood when exposed to light. It is a very important factor in choosing the colouring because, depending on the species of wood, considerable chromatic variations may occur, even immediately after brief exposure to light.
